Craft — Rebranding

Rebrand once. Roll out properly.

The design is the easy half. The hard half is the four hundred places your old brand still lives — and the rankings, links and templates that break the week after you switch.

The problem

Why this usually goes wrong.

Most rebrands lose traffic. Not because the new identity is worse, but because nobody mapped the redirects, updated the schema, re-verified the business listings or told the sales team which deck to delete.

We run rebrands as a migration project with a design phase attached, not the other way round. There is a checklist, an owner for every line, and a date.

What's included

Everything in the engagement.

No line items discovered halfway through. This is the scope, written down before we start.

01

Repositioning

Why the brand is changing, and what it must mean afterwards. Without this, a rebrand is a repaint.

02

Identity redesign

A full system, designed with the migration constraints already known.

03

Asset audit

Every place the old brand appears — site, listings, apps, invoices, signage, uniforms, email signatures.

04

Search migration

Redirect mapping, schema updates, listing re-verification and rank monitoring through the switch.

05

Internal launch

Your team hears it first, with the reasoning, before a customer sees a single new asset.

06

External launch

Announcement, campaign assets and a sequenced rollout across owned and paid channels.

What you get

Deliverables, itemised.

  • Repositioning and naming rationale
  • Complete identity system
  • Migration checklist with owners and dates
  • 301 redirect map and technical QA
  • Updated templates across all touchpoints
  • Launch campaign assets
  • 90-day post-launch monitoring
How it runs

Four phases, dated.

01

Audit

Find everything. The list is always longer than the client expects, and finding it early is what protects the launch.

02

Reposition

Settle what the brand now stands for before anyone opens a design file.

03

Redesign

Build the identity system against real applications from the audit.

04

Migrate

Switch in a planned sequence, monitor rankings daily for 90 days, fix what moves.

Questions

Answered before you ask.

Will we lose our Google rankings?
Not if the migration is planned. Rankings drop when redirects are missed, schema is stale or listings are left unverified. We map all three before launch and monitor daily for 90 days afterwards.
How long does a rebrand take?
Twelve weeks is typical for a mid-size business — roughly three for repositioning, five for design, four for rollout. Multi-location or regulated businesses take longer.
Do we have to change our name?
Usually not. Most rebrands are a repositioning plus a new identity. We only recommend a name change when the existing name is actively costing you — and we will show you why.
Can we phase the rollout?
Yes, and often you should. Digital first, then print and signage as stock runs down. We will sequence it so you are never half-branded in front of a customer.
